On Presence, Connection And Living In The Light
In this episode of heartbeat, Dr. Brooke Stuart dives into a discussion on presence, connection and living in the light. When we learn how to let go and release things that do not work for us anymore to optimize what does, our fallback point naturally lessens and we can begin to see that true progress takes place.
- Visualize: Visualize yourself plugging in a light and turning it on as you open the door to a garage filled with boxes. This analogy illustrates what it takes to connect, get present and engage the change through unpacking the boxes and reworking the space.
- Connection: By plugging in the light, you choose connection. As a practice, you can always connect to yourself by placing your hands over your heart and feeling your heartbeat.
- Presence: By choosing to turn the light on and operate in this way, you are in essence choosing to return to the present moment– now able to work with what is in front of you. It is very difficult to work in the dark. Here, we can implement a simple affirmation such as: I choose to return to the present moment, as we place both hands over our heart, choose to come back home and mean it.
- Observation: By simply showing up fully with presence, we gain access to observation and the deepened states that await this choice. When we choose to judge, we engage the mind and disconnect from ourselves, our desires and the inbuilt solutions that are ever available.
- Let Go & Grow: As we begin to operate with the light on, we have the opportunity to let go of what does not work and work with what does. Here, we can let go of the old and outdated and clean off what and prioritize that which aligns with us and feels like home.
